To have a visually pleasing Instagram feed that looks good overall is extremely important if you want to convert your visitors into followers. It’s the first thing someone sees when clicking on your profile. The face of your brand or your business.

To me, an Instagram feed is like a painting. A painting that is well thought out from the colors to the props, to the textures – It’s an endless source of inspiration made by someone who passionately paints it. How do the influencers, or the artists perhaps, do it? How do you create a beautifully curated feed that stands out from the crowd? Well, that’s what I’m here to share with you. Scroll down to see the recipe for a perfect Instagram feed.
Choose the aesthetic
The first thing you should think about when creating an Instagram feed is to choose the aesthetic and stick to it. If you have no clue where to start, then try asking yourself these questions! Who is your audience? What vibes do you want your Instagram feed to give? What color palette do you want it to be? Do you want it to look artsy? Minimalistic? Vintage? Parisian? The options are endless. Take a scroll through Instagram for inspiration- Just remember to use it for research purposes only. Do not copy someone else’s feed exactly. You want to be genuine and authentic, and that will be the thing that sets you apart from other creators. Your feed should represent YOU, and not someone else.
You can even make a Pinterest board of your “dream feed” to get a better idea of how you want it to look. You can check out my aesthetic Parisian Pinterest board for inspiration if you want to.

Editing
Now that you’ve picked an aesthetic that you like, it’s time to create some content. Editing is the way to make your photos fit together and there is a wide range of different editing tools out there to help you, these are the ones I think work best and how to use them.

The apps I use:
VSCO: If you want to add a filter
Lightroom: For adjusting the colors and the light
Snapseed: For perfecting the photo and edit the details

Color coordinate
choosing a consistent color scheme that fits your aesthetic can make your Instagram look 10 times more beautiful. Pick about three colors and stick to them. If you pick more than that it’s easy for your feed to lose the cohesive and appealing look.

The grid layout
A grid layout makes it easier for you to get an overview of how your feed is going to look like before you post your photos. This is where you plan your feed, you can even plan it weeks ahead to make sure everything fits nicely together.

That extra something something
Now that you have picked your aesthetic, have a layout of your feed in mind and know what kind of content you want to post, it’s time to add that little extra something something. Let’s call it an iconic flair. The pinch of salt that makes it all the more wonderful and that sets you apart from other creators and that makes you unique. It can be something as simple as adding pearls to every photo, or a certain color or golden light. Anything that will make people think of your account when they see it. “Ahh, that’s the influencer with the fruit earrings!” or “I know who you’re talking about, that girl with the figs!”.
